What is in your hand?
If you have a tendency to despair over lost opportunities or if you worry about the future, ask yourself this question: what is right in front of me? In other words, which circumstances and relationships are currently available to you? What can you boast of at that particular time? This question can get your focus off a past regret or a scary future and back to what God can do in your life. Most Entrepreneurs have failed because of their in ability to carry out "SWOT ANALYSIS". Others have allowed their mistakes in the past and their fear for the future ruin their career. Remember "You can't change the past but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future. Each person has an in - built potential. Try and utilize that potential in order to realize your dreams.
The source of impact
The Nobel prize is awarded annually to people in various fields who have made extraordinary impacts. Leaders in Biochemistry, Economics, Physics Literature, and Philosophy are recognized for their contributions. When a person is acknowledged with a Nobel prize, it is the ultimate affirmation of years of training, effort, education, and sacrifice in pursuit of excellence - investments that are the source of their impact. As Entrepreneurs, we might wish to make a significant impact in our world, but we often wonder, "What is the source of the Entrepreneurial influence? We often ask, what actually influenced Bill Gates, Warrren Buffet, Fluorisho, Oprah, Dangote, and other great Entrepreneurs to reach the level they are in the world today? After pondering through these, I realized that these world leaders in business were driven by one word(factor). I Call it the bedrock behind success. And it is "AMBITION"

Ambition
Human beings are always driven by the ambition to grow higher. There is a usual proverb which says that "ambition is no pride" a Primary school teacher will always have that zeal to one day, teach in a secondary school. And also, as time goes on become a professor in a tertiary institution. A small business owner will always have that zeal to grow to the level of a business consultant in the near future. Like wise in other professions. This is what we call ambition and it is driven by vision. Ambition is actually what leads to our dreams turning out to be reality. Every successful man today is an ambitious man. "show me a successful man and I will show you a man who is ambitious. Hence, ambition is the bedrock of Success. Ambition is what keeps you going even in the midst of difficulties. Optimism is an important characteristic of ambitious people. Be ambitious and success will come your way.

Power of Vision
Vision is the source and hope of life. The greatest gift ever given to mankind is not sight, but the gift of vision. Sight is a function of the the eyes. Vision is a function of the heart. Eyes that look are common but eyes that see are rare. Nothing noble or noteworthy on earth was ever done without vision. No intention, development or great feat was ever accomplished without the inspiring power of this mysterious source called vision. Civilization was born and developed through the diving power of visionary leaders. The canvas of history is painted with evidence of the creative tradition/defying force of vision. Social, economic, scientific and political achievements and advancement owe their conception to the power of vision. Vision is the key to unlocking the gates of What propells us into the land of What could be and has not yet been. Visions sets you free from the limitations of what the eyes can see and allow you to enter into the liberty of what the heart can feel. It is vision that makes the unseen visible and the unknown possible. Vision generates hope in the midst of despair and provides endurance in tribulations. Vision inspires the depressed and motivates the discouraged. Without vision, life would be a study in cyclic. "vision is the Foundation of Courage and the fuel of persistence" What have your vision inspired you to achieve? It was the vision for fight that inspired the wtight brothers the invent airplane. It was the vision of giving every person people-friendly software that inspired Bill gates to develop and invent the microsoft global empires. Vision is the energy of progress. Our world today is desperately in need of vision. Even a casual look at the prevailing conditions in our contemporary world is enough to produce fear, uncertainty, emotional and social trauma. Our world today damands leadership that can see beyond the now and into the prefered future that has the skill to transfer that vision into reality and that has the courage to inspire us to go there.

When You Need MoreEnergy, Do SomethingActive, Not Passive
When you’re not feeling super
energetic, your first instinct might be
to chill out on the couch and relax. If
you want to get your energy back,
though, do something more active
than watch Netflix.
As tips blog Barking Up the Wrong
Tree explains, passive activities—
meaning activities that don’t require
much input from you, like watching
TV—don’t do much to help your
energy levels. Feeling low-energy
doesn’t always mean that you need a
rest. Sometimes it just means you
need to get up off your butt and do
something:
Counterintuitive, I know. But
when you’re tired tonight but
want to not be tired tomorrow,
do active things like exercise or
spend time with friends.
Don’t do a marathon session in
front of the TV or mindlessly surf
the web.
If you’re sleepy , or generally
exhausted after having already spent
a ton of energy throughout the day,
that’s one thing. You might need a
rest. But if you’re weary because
you’ve been sitting in an office all
day, or just generally bored, try
exercising, going outside, or talking to some people to get your energy back.
Work for Just FiveMinutes to BreakProcrastination Habits
For many of us, procrastination isn't
necessarily a matter of laziness, but of
being daunted by the challenge of a
large task. To get over the initiation
anxiety, plan to work on a task for
five minutes. No more.
The idea seems counter-intuitive, but
it helps separate how big the task is in
your mind from actually getting
started. As Psychology Today explains,
if you limit yourself to only five
minutes, it makes it easier to get the
motivation to start. Once you do, you
may not want to stop. Even if you do
stick to the five minute commitment,
once you've started, you know exactly
where you left off and picking it up
again later will be easier:
You pick the task you want to
work on, and you vow to work
on it for five minutes, and five
minutes only. Yes, you must stop
after just five minutes. "What
can I possibly get done in five
minutes?" you might ask. But that
is the procrastinator talking—the
voice that would at this very
moment lobby for doing nothing
rather than doing anything at all.
Are you going to listen to that
voice? Don't. So let's ask again:
What can you get done in five
minutes?
Five minutes' more work than
you would have done otherwise—
and often the hardest part of all.
If you have a knack for bouncing
from one task to the next without
actually stopping to work on the one
you really need to be doing, this trick
could help break it down to fit your
brain's own habits. Procrastination is,
after all, largely a psychological
barrier rather than a practical one.

Stop Procrastinating by Reminding Yourself Why What You're Doing Is Important
When you’re putting something off,
sometimes you just need to work for
only a few minutes to get started .
Other times, you just need to remind
yourself why what you’re doing
matters. It’s easy to lose sight of why you’re
doing something, especially if you’re
just focused on how much you don’t
want to do do it. So when you find
yourself procrastinating, think about
why you have to do it—don’t just
think about the fact that it’s looming
over your head. When I first started
freelance writing, for example, I
would often procrastinate on actually
producing work to pitch. But once I
reminded myself that if I didn’t write
I’d never be able to get my work
published, I got a lot better about
staying on task.
Of course, if you can’t find a good
answer to “why”, then maybe you
should reexamine whether or not that
task is really important at all.

Boost Your Motivation By Focusing on Possible Losses, Not Gains
Want an extra push to achieve your goals? According to recent research, you might be able to boost your motivation by 50 percent by simply reframing an incentive. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that people who focus on losing a reward are more motivated to exercise than those who focused on gaining a reward. In the study, 281 adults were given a goal of taking 7,000 steps per day. One group had a “gain incentive”: They earned $1.40 each day they achieved the goal. Another had a “lottery incentive”: They got a chance to win $1.40 each day they achieved the goal. And the third group had a “loss incentive”: They were given $42 upfront each month but $1.40 was deducted each day the goal wasn’t achieved. Some were also assigned to a control group with just daily feedback but no financial incentive. After 13 weeks of tracking plus and additional 13 weeks with feedback but no incentives, those in the loss- incentive group met the goal 50% more than the control group or those in the gain-incentive groups.
Think of Failure as One Side of a Pendulum
In order to succeed, you usually have to fail at some point. We know this, but failing on purpose can be a tough thing to do. It helps to understand that embracing failure means you have control over it. Try thinking of failure as one side of a pendulum. In an interview with Entrepreneur’s Meiko Patton, publisher Darren Hardy recalls some of the best advice he received on achieving success: At his first real estate seminar, he bravely asked the lecturer to lunch and asked for the man’s best tip on being successful. The lecturer told him to go fail and do it often. Hardy was perplexed. So, the man picked up his napkin and pulled out a pen. He wrote on the napkin that, “Life, growth, and achievement work like a pendulum. On one side you have failure, rejection, pain and sadness. But on the other side, you have success, victory, joy and happiness.” Guess which side we have control over? Right: the side that comes with pain and failure and rejection. In that area, we control our own destiny. How you choose to react to rejection and failure can make a big difference in how far that pendulum swings. His point is: if success is important to you, you don’t want to be so scared of rejection that you’d rather not swing the pendulum at all. Embracing failure is a concept we’ve discussed before. But it’s inspiring to realize that embracing it is one variable you do have control over. Going back to the metaphor, this means you can choose to make the pendulum swing in the first place. It might be one variable, but it’s powerful.

"The Day I Quit Is the Day Before I Succeed"
For a lot of people, finding success comes down to perseverance. If you quit pursuing a goal today, you’ll never know what success tomorrow might bring. This daily mantra can help you remind yourself of that. Sometimes it’s smart to quit and cut your losses. That being said, you want to be sure that success is out of the question before you give up. Are you giving up because you know it’s a fool’s errand? Or are you giving up because it’s hard? At Quora, John Gannon shares a quote that helped him finally find success as a small business owner: The only reason I even remotely considered pushing through is knowing I have a fantastic idea and a single quote that has been repeating in my head, every single day: “ The day I quit is the day before I succeed...” It’s a funny thing because I almost quit last week. I was done. I was exhausted and feeling more depressed than ever. I didn’t care anymore. Today I am so happy I pushed through because my dedication and persistence has been rewarded... To think I almost threw in the towel last week. This stupid quote I’ve been kicking around for a year came true. There’s no guarantee that tomorrow will bring you success, or that you’ll ever find the level of success you’re after, but you’ll certainly never know if you wave the white flag today. If you take a moment every day to remind yourself of the potential tomorrow always has, you just might find the motivation get through those rough patches.

A Setback Is a Setup for a Comeback
Everybody loves a good comeback. When something doesn’t go your way in life, it’s important to look at it as an opportunity to prove that you can adapt and overcome. Speaker, minister, and author Eric Thomas reminds us in his book The Secret of Success that getting knocked back is really a step forward toward achievement: A setback is a setup for a comeback. Giving up on goals can lock yourself into a vicious cycle. You start to tell yourself that failure means it’s time to move on to something different instead of telling you to pick yourself up and brush the dirt off. If you don’t ever try to make a comeback, you’ll never get better at anything. Stop worrying about the “score” and keep learning. Eventually your comeback will happen and you’ll be thankful for each and every setback along the way.

Rekindle Your Passion for Work by Connecting with Coworkers
If you’re feeling unmotivated at work, try connecting with your colleagues for a reminder of why your work matters. Creating healthy relationships with coworkers is a great way to jumpstart your passion for your work, assuming you coworkers aren’t the problem, that is. If you’re not especially close to anyone at work, talking to people can be tough. Start by inviting coworkers to coffee or lunch , or just striking up a conversation in the break room. Odds are you work with some great people, you just need to get to know them. Ask them what they’re working on, they may inspire you with ideas for your own projects. Personally, when I’ve felt stuck, just finding out what others in my company are working on has boosted my own morale. If you do the same, you’ll learn more about how your work impacts theirs. Hopefully you’ll also rediscover some deeper purpose in your job .

Do the “Why” Exercise to Find Your Deepest Motivation
We all have goals, but it’s important to ask “why.” Why do you want to lose that 10 pounds? To eat healthier? Or to get that promotion? You might fumble for canned answers, but they’re probably not your real “why.” Dig deep and discover the real source behind your motivation, your true “why.” Here’s how. Perhaps initially your “why” for some of those questions above was “to look good,” “to attract your desired partner” or “to buy a new car.” A more concrete “why” is a lot less obvious and creates a powerful reason to pursue that which will give you a sense of purpose and accomplishment. We call this intrinsic motivation, which will help get you much farther with your goals . This is a written exercise, so grab a pen and paper to get started. Here’s an example of how it’s done:r Start by clearly stating your objective. Let’s say your goal is to lose 15 pounds. Ask “why.” Your answer might be: “So I can fit into my old medium-sized shirts again and not be embarrassed by my love handles when I sit down.” Be sure to write it down. Ask why again: “So I can be more attractive and confident.” Why? What would confidence do? “So I can be more happy with myself and do things I know I’m capable of.”Your own “why” exercise might be more detailed and take fewer or more “whys.” The point is to keep asking why until you arrive at your ultimate reason for pursuing your goal. Take your time with this exercise and be patient. When you’ve found it, hang onto that “why.” Tape it somewhere visible and use it as a constant reminder to yourself as to “why” you do something. Return to it when your motivation falters, or when you’re struggling to see the results of your work. Maybe when you hit that plateau and you’re not sure where to go, come back and read your “why” again. It’s surprisingly powerful.
